Fall Protection & Ladder Safety Trainings Planned
During OSHA’S Annual Stand Down To Safety Initiative
Greenville, PA, April 25, 2016 – WernerCo, the world leader in ladders and manufacturer of a complete line of climbing products and fall protection equipment, will be conducting more than 100 trainings this year that align with OSHA’s (Occupational Safety & Health Administration’s) annual Stand Down To Safety Initiative. Fatalities caused by falls account for almost 40% of construction deaths1 and many of these can be prevented with proper training and education.
The Werner End-User Specialist (EUS) team, comprised of the best-in-class safety professionals, will train on the proper use of ladders and fall protection gear at jobsites all across the country. During the OSHA National Stand Down To Safety 2016 events, the Werner Team is committed to reaching as many fall protection and ladder users as possible with the company’s unique safety perspective.
“Safety is of the utmost importance at WernerCo and we are constantly developing new products and training programs with the end user’s safety in mind,” said Dan Ward, National Safety Training Manager at WernerCo. “With these trainings, we hope to reach safety professionals across many sectors to broaden safety education, protocols and practices.”
To raise awareness, the annual OSHA Safety Campaign focuses on the top 10 most frequently cited OSHA violations in order to prevent accidents, such as falls from ladders or structural steel. In support of this initiative, WernerCo plans to train more than 5,000 end users in jobsite safety over the course of the 5-day campaign that will take place from May 2 – 6, 2016.
Safety Training Events from WernerCo
The WernerCo EUS team, consisting of 26 safety professionals throughout North America, will conduct these events. Each member of the WernerCo team is engaged in continuous on-site training simulations. The team takes this training directly to jobsites and offers companies a range of services from 10-minute safety inspections before work to multiple-day jobsite competent person courses.
Just last month the Werner EUS team has conducted 250 ladder and fall protection training sessions, with more than 3,300 people trained. These trainings have included seventy-eight ladder inspections, thirty fall protection inspections, seventy-two harness adjustment training sessions and seventy fall protection tripod training sessions.
The WernerCo team’s goal is to engage with crews from all over the country. Each event will focus on safety responses based on real-life scenarios. Participants will be trained on basic safety by application and how to respond when a potential issue occurs. From one-on-one trainings to large-scale seminars, the team will reinforce OSHA’s message and the importance of keeping people safe on the jobsite.
In addition to a comprehensive ladder and fall protection training program, the Werner EUS team offers instruction, maintenance and troubleshooting on jobsite, truck and van equipment. Because WernerCo is so focused on making sure local distributors have the right equipment, the company will be offering special promotional prices for these partners. This ensures that even on a tight budget, the end-users have the proper safety equipment in order to comply with OSHA standards and avoid injury.
