Ladders & Stepladders For Users Course

Course comprise practical and theory assessments and covers when and how to choose and use, how to handle and how to store a ladder, understanding the law and standards, as well as how to highlight potential hazards.

Ladders & Stepladders Inspection Course

Course covers how to assess and determine when it is appropriate to inspect a ladder or stepladder, and how to recommend the correct action if faults are found. The inspector course is for those who have already received their initial user training and are already in possession of a LadderCard.

We offer tailored solutions to provide individual training packages to meet the specific requirements of your business. Training is provided at our Burton-upon-Trent Office or Maldon Office. The courses are close to one day duration. All documentation and certificates are included in the fee.

FAQs ON TRAINING COURSE

 

Where are the courses held?

We have two ladder association registered training centres, in Burton-upon-Trent, just off the A38 and in Maldon, Essex.


How much do they cost?

The courses are from £95 per person and payment can be made by cheque, bank transfer and credit/ debit card.

How long do they last?

The User course and Inspector course only both last a minimum of 4 hours.

User courses begin at 8:30 a.m. prompt and are generally completed by 1:00 p.m.

We offer a User/ Inspector Combination course at a discounted rate where the Inspector course follows on after lunch at 1:30 p.m. and is completed by 4:00 p.m. Lunch is provided for candidates who take both the User and Inspector course.


How many people can attend a course?

The maximum number on each course is 8 delegates per trainer.


What does the course cover?

It consists of practical and theory assessments over at least 4 hours, and covers when and how to use, handle and store a ladder, understanding the law, and potential hazards.

The Inspector Course learning objectives are to enable the delegate to assess and determine when it’s appropriate to inspect a ladder or stepladder. Record finding and recommend action to be taken if faults are found.


What award / qualification is received?

A Ladder Association certificate and LadderCard will be issued to successful delegates who complete the theory and practical assessment sessions at the level they attend the course. This has a 5 year validity period.


What qualifications and experience are required?

No qualifications or experience are required for the Ladder User course. Delegates must be numerate, literate and have a good command of English. They should be fit and capable of lifting, carrying ladders.

To attend the Ladder Inspector Course delegates must hold a valid Ladder Association Users certificate and LadderCard, unless completing the User/ Inspector Combination course.
